Our Story
Amelia Wellington
Amelia Wellington was born from a family story, a shared passion for beautiful objects, and the belief that the things we choose for our homes should mean something.
Amelia was Martha’s great-grandmother. Born in England, she emigrated to New Zealand as a young woman and settled in Wellington. For forty years, she worked with glass in a small workshop, creating stained-glass windows for local churches. Beyond her commissions, she made lamps, little animals in coloured glass, and other pieces simply for the joy of creating.
When Amelia passed away, she left behind two boxes. One contained her tools, moulds, and sketchbooks. The other held six cut-crystal whisky glasses and a decanter — the set her husband used every Sunday, which she never allowed anyone to put away.
Objects are more than things. They hold memories, express character, and become part of the stories we share.
Chapter Two
Why We Started
For years, collecting beautiful objects was simply a shared passion. He collected bottles and glasses worth displaying. She filled the house with lamps that friends borrowed for parties and were reluctant to return.
Whenever people visited, they asked the same question: “Where do you find these things?”
Finding distinctive pieces was never easy. They were scattered among independent makers, small workshops, and places few people knew to look. We decided to bring those discoveries together in one place.
Amelia Wellington grew from that idea: a carefully curated collection of glassware, lighting, and decorative objects chosen for their character, craftsmanship, and timeless appeal.
What We Believe
We don't believe a home needs more things. We believe it needs the right things.
A crystal glass
Can make an everyday ritual feel special.
A decanter
Can turn a shelf into a conversation piece.
A lamp
Can transform the atmosphere of a room as evening falls.
A small, unexpected object
Can bring personality to a space in a way nothing else can.
We choose pieces we would be proud to have in our own homes — objects that balance beauty and function, invite a second look, and feel just as special years from now as they do today.
Our Commitment
Every piece in our collection is chosen with care. We look for distinctive details, beautiful materials, thoughtful design, and lasting appeal.
Our aim is to make discovering special objects easier, bringing together pieces that might otherwise remain hidden in workshops, independent collections, and unexpected corners of the world.
Whether you're searching for a meaningful gift or something special for your own home, we want you to find an object that feels personal — something you'll enjoy today and treasure for years to come.
